Have never seen one before.
They flew in such a tight group that we called it the “Willet Air Show.”
They were here from early morning until at least 6 p.m.

Baltimore Oriole

Oriole in CottonwoodSURPRISED THIS MORNING to see a Baltimore Oriole in the Cottonwood tree next
to the spillway. Understand that they are fairly common, but this is the
first time in 6 years we’ve seen one here.

Pectoral Sandpipers

Pectoral SandpipersSaturday, just before the start of Kids Fishing Day, we happened to see a
group of about 5 Sandpipers land on the southwest corner of the lake. Seemed
to be Pectoral Sandpipers, after studying our low-light photos.

Seagulls on Silver Lake

A flock of seagulls spent some time at Silver Lake Thursday (April 19). We
often see them before a snowstorm, but this time they came ahead of a
welcome warm spell.
