Animal life at Silver Lake

An amazing variety of flora and fauna exist at 10-acre Silver Lake. From rare migratory birds, fishing bald eagles and osprey to resident mute swans, duck and geese. From the occassional fox or bear to the dairy cows in the pastures surrounding the lake. From alligator snapping turtles, mink and enormous carp to stocked trout. The lake provides habitat for bullrushes and a variety of lake-edge wildflowers which in turn support an ecosystem of perching birds, butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies and other things that fly. Inside the mill, you can find the "wildlife" of our resident domestic cats. There's always something to see!
